Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kisoro.
– You Wake up early and start your journey at around 6am, drive via Mbarara, Kabale, to Kisoro. The journey will take you 9-10 hours.
– Luncheon and Check in at Mutanda eco community lodge.
– Dinner and Slumber
Day 2: Gorilla trekking at Virunga.
– Wake up for a hot breakfast to gain your momentum.
– Head out to the briefing centre for the rules and regulations while in the jungle.
– The trekking commences at 8am and last 2-8 hours duration depending on the location and the movement of the Gorillas. Once sighted, one hour of photography and observation is recommended.
– You may be required to have packed lunch.
– Relaxation after trekking, Dinner and Overnight at Mutanda Eco Community Lodge
Day 3: Hiking Sabyinyo.
– Boost your energy with a hot breakfast ahead of your trek.
– Meet the ranger guide for briefing for the DO’s and DON’T’s while in the mountains and expectations during the walk, During this tremendous walk, you will be able to view the summit of this mountain, that looks like a worn out tooth in a gum line. And that’s where it derived its name, sabyinyo, local word meaning, “iryinyo” (tooth). While at the summit, the mountain boast of panoramic views of 3 countries, that is to say Rwanda, DRC, and Uganda.
– You may need packed lunch, during the hike since you need 4 hours hiking and 4 hours descending.
– Check in at Mutanda Eco-community lodge for refreshment, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
– Have your warm breakfast and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, Check in at Crater Bay Lodge, have your lunch.
– You will have a Canoe ride to the punishment island where Bakiga girls who became pregnant before marriage would be taken and left to die in isolation. Other islands of Lake Bunyonyi include Akampene, Bushara, Bucuraniko, among others
– Refresh yourself, have dinner and overnight
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth.
– Have your morning breakfast and head out for Community walk at Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
– Check in at Eshama Lodge, refresh yourselves, relax a bit in the wilderness with experience of game like elephants, Buffalos, waterbucks, Giant forest hogs, warthogs, and many more amazing animals roaming in the compound.
– You will have your dinner and then later slumber.
Day 6: Morning and Evening Game Drive.
– Wake up early in the morning, Have hot or packed breakfast (optional)
– Head out for a morning game drive in the open plains of Kasenyi, the eastern part of the park, in search for a BIG 4 like Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Queen Elizabeth is one of the Uganda’s most popular tourist destination given her rich biodiversity . Mammals like Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, Hippos, , leopards, Hyenas, Buffalo, highlights the significance of the park to the eco system.
– Lunch break and relax a bit.
– Head out for an evening game in the same direction, while in the savanna, you will have an overview of Rwenzori mountain ranges and the spectacular animal sighting.
– The salt mining at Lake Katwe gives a spectacular sighting of birds like Lesser Flamingoes, which visit Uganda in the month of June and September and December to February when Uganda’s alkaline lakes go down. Ensure your camera is fully charged.
– Retreat back to the lodge before its dark. Dinner and Overnight at Eshama Lodge.
Day 7: Boat Cruise.
– Wake up in the morning, have breakfast.
– Embark on your car and drive to Kazinga Channel for a boat cruise at 11am, during a cruise you will have a chance to sight Hippos, Crocodiles, Elephant’s, Buffalo, Giant Forest Hogs among others. For the birds, the Papyrus Gonolek, the pink barked Pelicans, Malachite Kingfisher, African Fish Eagle, Water Thickneer, among others will be sighted.
– Relaxation, Dinner and Overnight
Day 8: Transfer to Kampala.
– Embark on the car and transfer to Kampala, check in at your prebooked hotel and End of the safari.
