Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Ziwa Rhino Sanctury and Murchison Falls National Park.
– This morning you will be picked up and head to the Rhino sanctuary where you will undertake a nature walk searching for the white Rhinos.
– Have lunch at Ziwa, after drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi. Drive through a tropical rainforest (Budongo) and proceed to the world’s most powerful water falls for a hike. This leads you to the bottom of falls where you have a panoramic view of “Kabalega” and “uhuru” falls dropping before they concentrate to join Lake Albert in the west. It’s an exciting and adventurous activity that everyone MUST DO.
– Check-in at Pakuba safari lodge or similar. Refresh yourself, have dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise.
– Wake up and receive your packed breakfast and head out for a sunrise game drive. Enjoy your game drive in the savanna in quest for the Lions, Leopards, elephant, and Buffalo. Other mammals like Defassa waterbucks, Uganda Kobs, giraffes, Oribs, will be seen. Drive back to the lodge for a lunch break, a head of 14hours boat cruise.
– On this afternoon boat launch, expect to see a lot of bird’s species like bee eaters, African jacana, the rarely spotted African fin-foot, of course not forgetting crocodiles, Hippos. Numerous aquatic plants such as papyrus, Nile Lily, water hyacinth…….. It’s phenomenal!
– A short evening game drive will be conducted before you head back to the lodge.
– Refresh yourself, have dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park.
– After your morning breakfast, transfer to Kibale national park via Fort Portal. Drive through Tea plantations, and reach Fort Portal for lunch.
– You will then drive to the lodge and check in at Chimpanzee forest lodge for a refreshment, dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee Trekking and Swamp Walk.
– After you have gained energy this morning with hot breakfast, drive to the briefing point for rules and regulations while in forest. The movements and activities of the day determine how fast you encounter these cousins! 1 hour of observation and photography is recommended during this session.
– Drive back to the lodge for lunch and thereafter proceed for Bigodi swamp and community walk and participate in the manual coffee and banana juice processing. Bigodi swamp is also an eco-tourist site specifically for primate and bird watching. Over 200 bird species have been recorded in this fascinating area.
Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park.
– This morning after your breakfast, you will check out and embark on the car and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national Park, driving through beautiful villages with preferred stops for photography of different crater lakes, landscapes, plantations and communities.
– Queen Elizabeth national park lies at the foothills of the “mountain of the Moon”.
– Check in at Bush lodge, Advark lodge or similar.
– Undertake an evening game drive in the open plains of Kasenyi. Mammals such as Lion, Leopard, Uganda Kobs, Defassa waterbucks, elephants, warthogs will be sighted with an aid of a safari guide. This highlights the significance of the park in the ecosystems.
– Drive back to the lodge for a refreshment, dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise.
– Wake up early for early breakfast and drive to the eastern part of the park for sightings. Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, elephants and many more mammals (BIG 4) should be expected. Visit Bunyampaka salt lake and see how salt is mined manually.
– Return to the lodge for a lunch break. Drive to Kazinga channel for a boat cruise at 1400hrs, this channel joins Lake Edward and Lake George.
– During the cruise, you will have a chance to see Hippos, Crocodiles, elephants, buffalos, Giant forest hogs among others. Birds like pink backed pelicans, Papyrus Gonolek, African fish eagle, water thick-knee mention them! It’s simply amazing!
– Head back to the lodge for breathtaking, dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
– After you have had your breakfast, you will be driven to Bwindi impenetrable forest, a worldwide recorganized habitat for the Mountain Gorillas. Go through a dense and tropical rain forest to Bakiga lodge, Gorilla friends lodge or similar.
– Check in, refresh yourself, have dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Gorilla Trekking and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi.
– Boost your morning with hot breakfast before heading out to the jungle for trekking through a huge forest as you search for the Mountain Gorillas with an aid of experienced ranger guide. This trekking will take you 1-2 hours or more depending on the movement of the Gorillas. A packed lunch is recommended. After this outstanding experience, head to lake Bunyonyi where you will check in at Crater Bay lodge, Bunyonyi overland resort or similar.
– You will enjoy a canoe ride to explore the different islands of the lake. Sail to the punishment island where the Bakiga girls who become pregnant before marriage would be taken and left to die in isolation.
– Have your dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park.
– Have your morning breakfast, and hit the road for Lake Mburo.
– Check in at eagle’s nest, Rwakobo lodge, Hyena lodge or similar.
– Head out for an evening game drive in search for leopards, buffalos, Zebras, Elands, Impalas, Defassa waterbucks, and many more.
– Refresh yourself, have dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Nature Walk and Transfer to Kampala.
– Enjoy your breakfast and checkout for a nature walk with an armed ranger. This walk will take you close to nature and have a chance to view different animals and bird’s species at a close range.
– You will then drive back to Entebbe. A stopover will be made at the Equator line for lunch, Photography and souvenirs. Continue with your journey to a prebooked hotel so that you rest and refresh yourself.
– You will then be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your flight.
– End of the trip with Kfir Adventures Limited!
