Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer from Masindi to Kibiro hot springs via Hoima.
On this Day, meet our Kfir adventures English speaking guide; be briefed on your activities of the day, embark on the car and start off your journey of approximately 2 hours to the hot spring. Drive through Hoima with a spectacular view of the busy city while you proceed to Kibiro hot springs. Upon arrival, disembark from the car and descend to witness the beautiful fountain of natural boiling water with temperatures of about 100 degrees centigrade. This water is hot enough to boil an egg or banana, and you are encouraged to experiment this by boiling either of the two while on this trip. The hot water from the spring contains medicinal properties used to heal skin diseases like ringworms, eczema and scabies. You will get illustrations of how the salt is mined and processed locally by both men and women of that locality. You will have enough time for your adventure before you proceed for a lunch break in a local Restaurant.
Visit Butiaba Escarpment and Landing Site
Butiaba escarpment lies on the shores of Lake Albert on the Peninsular of Murchison Falls National Park. The Butiaba Escarpment served as a transportation hub in the 20th Century. You will have a brief stopover at the scenic point for the view of L. Albert. A photo shoot moment is highly recommended at this stop over.
Proceed with your drive to the base of the rift valley at butiaba landing site. Take a moment to sight water birds like the African Jacana, water thicknee, Goliath herons, the Egrets and many more. You can have a moment with the community in this area, majorly Alur and Bagungu tribes who are fishermen and fish mongers. Get illustrations of different fish preservation methods like smoking, salting and sun drying. Embark on your car, drive to Masindi via Biiso through a stretch of Budongo Forest and Sugar cane estates. Drop off in Masindi at your place of residence.
End of the trip, Thank you for entrusting Kfir Adventures with your trip!
