Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Today you will meet our safari guide from Kfir Adventures Limited and he will brief you on this trip before setting off from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest N.P in south western Uganda. Dinner and overnight at your prebooked hotel .
Day 2: Gorilla trekking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Have breakfast and head to the briefing point where you will receive some briefing on the dos and don’ts while trekking the gorillas. Thereafter, you will enter the Gorilla tracking zones for your adventure. The beauty of this Rain forest is amazing! The forested landscape is incredibly dense with more than 160 species of trees and over 100 species of ferns. The time taken to find the gentle giants depends on their movements. You will trek up and down the huge Bwindi forest until you locate the gorillas, when you get to them, a maximum of 1 hour will be given for photography and observation. This thrill of spending time observing these gentle giants is truly unforgettable. Return to Bakiga lodge for some refreshment, relaxation, Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Drive to Kalinzu Forest for Chimpanzee Trekking.
Have your early breakfast at 6am and embark on the car. Take on a drive through tea plantations to Kalinzu forest for chimpanzee trekking. This activity takes 2-3 hours depending on their movements.1 hour of observation and photography will be given to you after encountering them. This moment gives you the possibility of learning their social behaviors in natural habitat. After Chimp Trekking, transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park which plays host to 95 species of mammals, including 5,000 hippos, 3,000 elephants, more than 10,000 cape buffaloes. And if you are a fan of birding, this is it! Up to 619 bird species have been recorded here – the most significant number of bird species you can find in a single protected area in the whole of eastern Africa.
Upon arrival, check in at Eshama Lodge, then head out for an evening Game drive in the open plains of Kasenyi, the eastern part of the park, this will be a short drive, Queen Elizabeth is one of Uganda’s most popular tourist destinations given her rich biodiversity. Mammals like Uganda Kobs, waterbucks, warthogs, Hippos, lions, leopards, Hyenas, Buffalo, highlights the significance of the park to the eco system. Retreat back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight a head of next day’s activities.
Day 4: Morning and Evening game drive.
Rise up early, take breakfast and then head for a game drive at the Kasenyi plains. Kfir Adventures guide will help to look out for Lions, leopards, bushbucks, Uganda Kobs, topis, Defassa waterbucks, and Cape buffaloes elephants, to mention but a few. Head back to the lodge for lunch. After relaxation, embark on the car for an evening game drive to search for buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes, and elephants along the way as you drive slowly to visit the Lake Katwe town with its gorgeous exhibit of crater lakes. Return back to the lodge for leisure, dinner and overnight.
Transfer to Murchison Falls
You will begin your journey from Kampala. The drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Masindi takes approximately 5-6 hours. A stop over is recommended to refresh before entering Murchison falls. Check in at Murchison River Lodge, relax, dinner and overnight. (Activities to do are optional).
Day 5: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.
After your morning breakfast, meet the driver guide, embark on the car and drive to Murchison falls national park, one of the largest parks in Uganda. After admission in the park, Drive through a transition of tropical rainforest (Budongo), with an oversight of primates like black and white colobus monkeys, baboons, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys and many more, Murchison Falls National Park is a paradise boasting of over 451 bird species. After being joined by Dave & Jose, drive to the north bank, for an evening game drive as you head to check in at Murchison safari lodge. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise.
As early as 6:30am after breakfast, head out in the same direction for a morning game drive in search for BIG 4 like Elephants, Lions, Leopards, Buffalos, with the aid of your safari guide. This can take you 3-4 hrs. Murchison is a home to 76 mammal’s species and 451 bird species. After game drive, drive back to your lodge for a lunch break until 1:45 PM, descend to the Nile for an afternoon boat launch to the summit of falls. The Nile is very healthy and plays a significant role in inhabiting marine life. Permanent residents like Nile Crocodiles, Hippos, will be sighted whereas regular visitors like elephants, warthogs, waterbucks, Giraffes, Buffalos will be seen at the river bank drinking and thermal regulating. Keep focused for giant kingfishers, African fish eagle, pied kingfishers, Goliath Herons, saddle Bill stork, and many more. This activity will last for 3 hours. Meet your guide and embark on the car and drive to the lodge for relaxation dinner and overnight. (An evening game drive can be conducted depending on the fatigue level).
Day 7: Top of falls and Exit.
After your morning breakfast, drive to the world’s most powerful waterfalls for a magnificent view of the falls squeezing through a 6 meter narrow gorge before it loses its youthful energy to meet Lake Albert at the delta in the west. From falls, embark on the car, and hit the road for Kampala with a planned lunch stop along the way. Reach Kampala in the evening and get dropped off at your final return home. End of the trip.
